An efficient gateway for trade

Located in the Pacific Northwest in Washington state, the Port of Tacoma is one of the top 10 container ports in North America. We offer one of the shortest and most efficient land-sea connections between Asia and the U.S. Midwest.

Deep water, superior intermodal operations and ample land for expansion make Tacoma an optimal gateway for international trade. We handle more than $34 billion of trade per year in containerized cargoes, roll-on/roll-off, bulk, breakbulk and heavy-lift cargoes.

We have also been the Gateway to Alaska since 1976. Today, we handle about 80 percent of waterbourne commerce moving between the Lower 48 and Alaska.
