Both Jay Inslee and Rob McKenna agree-- completing State Route 167 is a priority.
In an interview with Transportation Daily, Jay Inslee said, "Prior studies have demonstrated that completing [SR-167]....could expand and generate an estimated 80,000 new jobs statewide while easing congestion between Puyallup and Tacoma by 15 percent."
Rob McKenna agreed, noting that "We’re lucky to have a public ports system that is an amazing engine of economic activity. Freight mobility is a critical component for ensuring our ports remain attractive to shippers for container traffic, and that our exporters can get their goods to market. There is broad consensus that...we finally need to finish SR167 to connect it to the Port of Tacoma."
