Despite two years of negotiations, a transportation investment package "remains as stuck as a rush-hour commuter," The Seattle Times’ Jonathan Martin recently wrote in an opinion piece.

Martin's piece, Explaining the legislative holdup in Olympia, explores some of the issues that continue to hinder the passage of a transportation funding package that includes projects like the completion of State Route 167.

To get a package passed this year, lawmakers need to be willing to compromise and cut deals. Now is the time to invest in our state's transportation infrastructure.

As Martin writes, “the payoff is worth it."
