Debbie Shepack has joined the Port of Tacoma as Director of Real Estate where she will oversee the Port’s real estate and economic development activities.
“We are excited to announce that Debbie has joined the Port’s real estate department,” said Alisa Praskovich, Chief of Strategic Projects & Commission Relations for the Port of Tacoma. “As we continue to execute the Port’s Strategic Plan, her extensive and diverse real estate experience will help us realize current and future growth opportunities in the Port’s real estate line of business.”
Shepack comes to the Port after 13 years in the real estate division at the Port of Long Beach (POLB) where she managed a large portfolio of real property and asset leases, including rail properties. She also negotiated and oversaw lease agreements with POLB tenants, including major shipping lines and logistics companies, as well as serving as the real estate liaison on strategic economic development partnerships and projects with the City of Long Beach. Her professional background also includes twelve years as an independent real estate appraiser.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Northern Illinois University and completed professional education programs in marine terminal operations and global logistics at California State University Long Beach.
“I am excited to join the Port of Tacoma team and I look forward to working with the Port’s tenants, economic development partners and the local real estate community,” said Shepack.
“We welcome Debbie to our port family,” said Eric Johnson, Executive Director for the Port of Tacoma. “Her knowledge and experience will be invaluable as we work to expand our property acquisition, leasing and economic development capacity throughout the region.”
