During an interview today on TV Tacoma’s CityLine, Jason Jordan, environmental programs director, talked about how the Port’s environmental initiatives support economic development and job creation.

We weave our environmental programs into all aspects of the business, Jordan explained. The work includes:

• managing stormwater runoff to protect the waterways,
• reducing air emissions through the Northwest Ports Clean Air Strategy,
• cleaning up contaminated properties and returning them to productive use, and
• creating habitat to mitigate for development and provide public access.
