We know business interests from Tacoma to the Tri-Cities and Covington to Vancouver believe SR-167 completion is important for job growth and economic development.

That support has now spread to the state of Alaska.

Representatives of the Alaska State Chamber of Commerce recently visited the Port of Tacoma, source of 70% of the cargo delivered to Alaskan communities. During that visit, they came away with the understanding that the impacts associated with SR-167 completion are not confined just to Pierce County.

In response, the Chamber this week wrote senators King and Eide and representative Clibborn, urging action to complete this highway of nationwide significance. A copy of the letter to Senator King is below.
