The last few days have been busy in the media world when it comes to transportation and SR-167.

Brad Shannon, writing for the New Tribune, penned a piece on a loose coalition of business, labor and environmental groups trying to develop a unified approach to passing a transportation tax package in the Legislature this year. They recently sent formal letters to Gov. Jay Inslee and legislative leaders asking for action. The letters ask for a package that makes “a significant down payment on the $50 billion need identified by the Connecting Washington Task Force.” SR-167 was included in the Task Force recommendations.

Bill Virgin also had a nice comment about how Pierce County has really come together with a unified message about the importance of SR-167 in a piece he wrote yesterday for the News Tribune. "In Pierce County, at least, it’s clear what the powers that be want – completion of state Route 167, " he wrote. "Just in case anyone missed what is at the top of the wish list, the port has done the equivalent of circling the desired item in the catalog 12 times with red crayon..."

And if movies are more your thing, check out this 1-minute video from Pierce County Television where Pierce County Executive Pat McCarthy outlined the case for completion of SR-167.
