Governor Inslee participated in a conference call with Keep Washington Rolling members this morning. He emphasized the importance of quickly completing negotiations on a transportation revenue package in the coming days as part of a larger incentive package for Boeing.
Inslee characterized the ongoing negotiations between lawmakers as "constructive" and "postive" with concessions being made by both sides. When asked about the discussions around reform, Inslee said that the various parties had come to resolution on "about seven out of ten issues." Charles Knutson, the governor's transportation policy advisor, later in the call said the three major outstanding issues involve how to address multi-modal funding, stormwater and the use of sales tax for transportation projects. Knutson also noted that an additional "five corners" conversation would occur Thursday night between majority and minority leaders of the various caucuses and the governor.
