Speaking yesterday at the Association of Washington Business' annual policy summit in Suncadia, Governor Inslee called on state lawmakers to send him a transportation package in time for the Apple Cup.

He expressed a sense of urgency, noting the critical link between mobility and economic competitiveness. "Every single business depends on a robust transportation system...if it declines we become less competitive," he said. "Transportation is integral to both sides of the state...it's as important to the apple industry to move products through the ports of Seattle and Tacoma as it is for Boeing to move parts up and down I-5."
