Commissioners are expected at their Thursday meeting to consider authorizing three leases and design work for a rail project.

The leases with a wallboard manufacturer, car exporter and provider of equipment fumigation and cleaning services will expand each business’ footprint in the Port industrial area. Meanwhile, the rail design work is for two new, 7,000-foot intermodal tracks to connect Port rail yards to the East Blair Peninsula.

Commission meetings begin at noon in Room 104 of the Fabulich Center, 3600 Port of Tacoma Road. Meetings are streamed live on the Port’s website.
