Dave Meyers with the Washington State Building and Construction Trades union best summed up the transportation debate at Monday's rally in Olympia:

Transportation is not a partisan issue. It is not a Republicans or Democrats.
It’s not a west or an east issue. It is not a represented or unrepresented
issue. It is an economic and quality of life issue for everyone in Washington
state.

This bipartisan spirit was captured in a great piece by Jordan Schrader written for the Bellingham Herald where he describes how party lines have blurred as legislators from both sides of the aisle contemplate the need for a new transportation revenue package.
