The Pierce County Council on Tuesday unanimously passed a resolution finding the completion of State Route 167 to be essential to the region's and state's economies and urging the Washington State Legislature to adopt a transportation revenue that would provide sufficient funds to complete the highway.
The Resolution notes the project was identified as a priority project by the Connecting Washington Task Force, declaring it "one of the highest priority transportation corridor projects in the Puget Sound region and Washington state"
