Port of Tacoma commissioners on August 15 approved a second interlocal agreement with Tacoma Public Schools to advance the Port Maritime Center/Maritime 253 Skills Center through the next key phase of the project that includes planning, design, development, and cost estimating.
Commissioners also approved an updated code of conduct and authorized funding and an amended agreement with the Department of Ecology for environmental cleanup at the Earley Business Center. They also approved project authorization increases for cleanup at the Arkema site and accepted a Pierce County grant for comprehensive stormwater planning.
Commissioners began the meeting by honoring two retiring employees for their dedicated service, Pete Marzano and Dave Fjeld, who each worked at the Port for more than thirty years.
