The Port of Tacoma has signed a five-year lease with Northwest Marine Co., a civil marine contractor, to expand services to the West Coast.
The marine construction company, owned by Texas-based Orion Marine Group, will occupy about 3.5 acres, including buildings and two piers, on the Tacoma Tideflats. The lease includes options for two additional five-year terms.
Northwest Marine officials said the company expects to employ about 100 people over the next five years at its new Tacoma base.
