For the third year running, the Port of Tacoma has been named an Inbound Logistics Green Supply Chain Partner for its sustainability commitment.
One of six ports selected, Tacoma was recognized for its efforts to reduce seaport-related air emissions through the Northwest Ports Clean Air Strategy, clean up contaminated land and return it to productive use, and find innovative solutions to manage stormwater runoff.
Two other Northwest ports joined Tacoma on the list this year: the ports of Seattle and Portland.
The trade magazine honored 75 companies from various trade sectors, including ports, truckers, railroads, shipping lines, freight forwarders and air cargo carriers.
The complete list of honored partners is featured in the magazine's June issue at http://www.inboundlogistics.com/digital/g75_digital_0612.pdf [file may take a while to load].
