If you haven't already, you may soon hear radio ads during your daily commute calling on lawmakers to come to agreement on a statewide transportation package.
Paid for by the Association of Washington Business, the 60-second ad urges lawmakers to approve a bipartisan transportation funding and reform package this year to reduce congestion, lower carbon emissions and ensure accountability with transportation dollars.
The radio ad, combined with a full-page ad in the Seattle Times from Keep Washington Rolling, represents an unprecedented push by AWB to encourage legislators to pass the first statewide transportation package in a decade.
In the meantime, we continue to hear positive reports out of Olympia. Transportation budget negotiators have been meeting nearly every weekday over the last week, and the rumor is that they are making excellent progress working through the most contentious issues. With that said, stakeholders continue to call their legislators to encourage them to keep talking.
This is time to finish what we started. It is time to finish SR 167.
