A few links to pass along...
We'll start out with a piece in the Fife Free Press on the SR-167 Completion Coalition's endorsement of HB 1954-- the revised transportation revenue proposal recently unveiled by House Transportation Committee Chair Judy Clibborn.
The Highline Times made reference to the increasing cooperation between SR-167 supporters and interests backing the completion of SR-509 in south King County.
This cooperation was highlighted during a recent tour by Port of Seattle officials of eastern Washington reported on by the Tri-Cities Herald. Port commissioners called on the importance of completing critical freight corridors, including SR-167.
In the meantime, the Seattle Times called out the Legislature's decision over the weekend to pass a bare-bones transportation budget, pending a later decision (hopefully during the special session to be convened May 13) on a transportation revenue package that would provide the means to complete SR-167 and other important projects.
Finally, Steve Wilhelm of the Puget Sound Business Journal has wrriten that "Fear of rising cargo competition may be the tipping point that brings completion of two long-sought Puget Sound-area freight-mobility projects."
