The City of Tacoma now plans to begin July 7 grinding and laying asphalt on Milwaukee Way from Lincoln Avenue to south of Marshall Avenue. (The City previously planned to begin work June 30.)

Construction is expected to last four to six weeks. The contractor, Tucci & Sons, will grind off approximately 3 inches of existing roadway and replace it with new asphalt.

Access to all businesses will be provided during construction.

The project is funded through a federal grant and heavy haul permit fees.
