Tacoma Port Commissioners and Sumner City Council members are scheduled to meet together for the first time Monday, Aug. 31, to discuss ways the two organizations can work together to better serve the region’s economy. Transportation projects essential to creating jobs and expanding trade throughout Pierce County will top the agenda.

This first-ever joint study session will be held at 6 5:15 p.m. at Pacific Crest Industries, 13610 52nd St. E. in Sumner. The public is welcome to attend. (please note new time)

Discussions are expected to concentrate on transportation routes of mutual benefit to the City and the Port, and how the two jurisdictions can provide political support to one another to secure funding for the improvements.
