Governor Inslee address the international trade community last night at the Trade Development Alliance's annual dinner. Speaking to a crowd of several hundred business leaders, Inslee said, "If we're going to advance our trade agenda there are a few foundational investments we're going to need to make here in Washington... including transportation."

Washington state certainly produces and grows a number of world-class products: aircraft, wines, potatoes, apples, man lifts, and machinery, just to name a few. But if you ca not get these products to market after you have grown or made them, then what is the point?

"We need a transportation package this year," Inslee said. It should have not taken a collapsed bridge to make that point. When we compete for the next generation Boeing 777 I want to show we've made progress on freight mobility."
