The Puget Sound Business Journal this week discussed how recent political losses "are taking a toll on one of the Puget Sound region's original and still key industries."

One area where ports continue to struggle to find support is in the area of transportation investments.

"The Legislature has dropped the ball so often on funding crucial freight corridors such as the 509 [and 167] connection with I-5 that advocates feel much like Mariner fans awaiting a World Series," editorialized the PSBJ.

With the Legislature's special session scheduled to end tomorrow, we are left to wonder once again whether the ports' call for help will once again go unanswered.
