Commissioners are expected at their Thursday meeting to hear a request to complete the next phase of work to redevelop the general central peninsula.

The work at Pier 4 on the Blair Waterway includes demolishing about 1,000 feet of the existing wharf and removing contaminated material found during sediment sampling. The wharf will then be reconfigured to align with Pier 3 to allow two of the world’s largest container ships to berth simultaneously. An upgrade to strengthen Pier 3 was completed last year.

The agenda also includes requests to amend leases with Northwest Building Company and APM Terminals, as well as commission travel through the first six months of the year. See the full agenda.

Commission meetings begins noon in Room 104 of the Fabulich Center, 3600 Port of Tacoma Road. Meetings are streamed live on the Port's website.
