Commissioners are expected at their Thursday meeting to consider a request to provide funding for the reconstruction of Port of Tacoma Road, the main truck route to several Port terminals.

The City of Tacoma project received a $5.9 million grant from the Transportation Improvement Board in November, providing the final funding needed to replace about 7,800 feet of the roadway with concrete to meet heavy haul corridor standards. Construction is expected to begin this spring.

Commissioners are also expected to hear requests to modify the Puyallup Land Claims Settlement and amend an agreed order with the Washington State Department of Ecology. See the full agenda.

Thursday’s commission meeting begins at 11 a.m. in Room 104 of the Fabulich Center, 3600 Port of Tacoma Road. Meetings are streamed live on the Port's website.
